Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures among our Fayetteville, AR patients—and it’s no wonder. Professional teeth whitening is an affordable way to whiten and brighten your smile in a very short amount of time.

At Scott J. Stephens, DDS, we offer both in-office and at-home whitening treatments. You might be wondering about the pros and cons of each. Let’s take a look at the main differences.

Teeth Whitening in Our Office

The main benefit of having your teeth whitening done in our office is speed. You can literally walk into our office with yellowing, stained teeth, undergo whitening treatment, and leave our office with teeth that are several shades whiter. In the time it takes for your lunch hour, you can dramatically improve the look of your smile.

Teeth Whitening at Home

For those who prefer to do their whitening treatment in the privacy of their own home and at their own convenience, our at-home whitening kits are just as effective as what you’ll find in our office. The main difference is that you’ll be directed to use the custom trays and whitening gel an hour or so daily for a period of about two weeks, depending on your smile goals. In the end, your smile will be dramatically whiter, but it will be a more gradual improvement.

We always recommend that you have your teeth professionally cleaned prior to undergoing any kind of teeth whitening treatment.
