Scott Stephens Dentistry is now offering Botox cosmetic in our office. Facial esthetics has long been an interest of Dr. Stephens, and with dentists’ extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and musculature, as well as their ability to give a wide range of injections, he feels that Botox will be a great service we can offer our patients.
Is Dr. Stephens certified to give Botox injections? Yes! Dentists have extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and musculature and give hundreds of injections each week. Dr. Stephens has trained with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics in Botox techniques and received his Botox certification through Empire Medical Training, one of the nation’s leading Botox training institutes.
What does Botox do? Botox cosmetic is a medication that when injected to certain areas of the face that have wrinkles, it diminishes or eliminates the wrinkles for a period of time.
Are there any side effects? Botox is one of the safest medications on the market and has very little potential side effects. Dr. Stephens will discuss them with you if you want more information and choose to have a consult.
Is it safe? Botox is one of the most prescribed medications and services in the world, with millions of injections being given safely each year.
Does it hurt? As with any injection, there can be a small amount of discomfort associated with the administration of the Botox. Most patients report minimal discomfort.
How much does it cost? Botox cost is dependent on the degree of correction the patient wants and the number of sites being treated. We charge $12 per unit, and a typical treatment can range anywhere from 20-60 units.
How long does it last? The length of time the Botox is active in an individual varies, but typical times range from 3-6 months, after which the effect will diminish. New medication will need to be injected to continue the effect.
